Bellbird—Ellas Track—Cass Ridge Track—O'Farrells—Bush Road Track—Ellas Track

Saturday 18 April 2026

Five assembled at PMH and fitted in Graeme’s spacious auto for the drive to Jamieson’s Lookout over the road from the Sign of the Bellbird. Ellas Track joined the Cass Ridge Track which is not a ridge at all, but a spur—call me pedantic. Most of this spur track is in the open so gives good views of the harbour. It joins a fairly horizontal O’Farrell’s Track which enters patches of forest as it passes through gullies. Taking the first up-track would have shortened our circuit too much so we chose the Bush Road Track that meanders upwards through forest, then low vegetation to meet a flat section of Ellas Track. A view-point on the way up Bush Road let us count the many slips that stormy weather has triggered. At a sunny viewpoint not far from the car we had a leisurely lunch and finished the walk with most of the afternoon in reserve. We were Mary, Graeme, Dorota, Joy and Kerry.    KM
