Five club members made our way over to Naval Point, Lyttelton for the Paddle. The weather was a bit chilly to start off with, but improved as we paddled round Quail Island, with a stopover on the South Beach for morning tea.
We were told winter is the best time to paddle as the sea can be a lot calmer. Paddling round the Island gave us a chance to observe the many species of bird life. Paddling certainly exercises the Upper Back muscles, thus the slower speed back to Naval Point.
Waka Paddling is very intoxicating, I will be organising another trip, hopefully in November.
Thank you to the Waka Club also Mike, Wendy, Kim and Keith MH
